AviaAM Leasing and SCAC sign an LOI for SSJ100 finance and leasing
Earlier today AviaAM Leasing, a global aviation holding company engaged in commercial aircraft acquisition, leasing and sales, and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), the Russian civil aviation manufacturer and the developer of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project, have announced about the execution of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with regard to finance and lease of five Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The agreement was signed during the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2013.
According to the LOI, the parties have agreed that SCAC and AviaAM Leasing will establish a new partnership under which the companies will jointly promote Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft worldwide, with a particular focus on the emerging markets which are developing the demand for regional aircraft.
‘The partnership with AviaAM Leasing is to provide potential customers serving short-haul routes with additional advantages which had been previously unavailable to them. Through the cooperation with our partners we will be able to open and explore new markets for Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft,’ commented Andrey Kalinovskiy, President of SCAC.
’The air transportation market in such regions as the Middle East, the CIS, Africa and Asia is rapidly developing. Regional operators are increasingly exploring the opportunities to operate such jets as SSJ100 which might prove to be more efficient on certain routes than larger Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s. Along with our sister company Avia Solutions Group we will be able to offer new SSJ100 operators a number of highly effective asset financing solutions and comprehensive support throughout the entire leasing period. Base and line maintenance, component supply, pilot training and lease – in other words, we will be able to provide all the services which are necessary for all airlines introducing new aircraft types to their fleets. We are confident that our joint efforts and experience [with SCAC and Avia Solutions Group] will allow us to make a significant contribution to the development of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project in Russia, the CIS and the rest of the world,’ commented Tadas Goberis, the CEO at AviaAM Leasing.
